I estimate that you saved us nearly $10,000 in the costs of fixing hidden plumbing and electrical deficiencies. If the substandard plumbing you identified had failed after we had purchased the residence you inspected, the costs to repair the water damage would have been much higher. More importantly, as a result of your findings, the sellers replaced the main electric service panel and several improperly grounded outlets. This removed a significant fire hazard and may have saved not only our new home but our lives.

Dear Mr. Brave,
A week ago, we went into a contract on a house and were told that we had to have a home inspection. We did not know any particular home inspection company, so we asked our realtor. As soon as she gave me your business card, I called you. I was very impressed how easy it was to get in touch with you. Every time I have called you, you answered right away and were available to help me right away. I have been dealing with other service companies since we put our house on the market, and it is very frustrating to accomplish all the tasks when I have to leave messages at each place and wait for calls back. Sometimes it takes days, but not in your case.
I was very pleased and impressed when you said you could come out the very next day. When I got there, you were already on the roof. You arrived early and got started right away.
During the inspection, we didn’t expect you that you would walk us around to the various areas of concern. We thought that we would merely receive a report a few days later. Seeing the items which needed repair gave us an idea how serious (or not serious) they were.
On the way home, we were mostly concerned with the termite problem, mostly because we were not familiar with termites and how they work. I called you on your cell phone, and you gave me a very detailed explanation of how termites work. I was impressed when you said that you also double check the corners of the ceiling in the rooms which might have termites, to see if there is any sign of termite destruction. Your personal recommendations on this problem were very helpful because it helped us make some serious decisions.
Upon your recommendation to get a more extensive termite inspection, you gave us the name of a fellow inspector who was as courteous, helpful, and thorough as you are. He was able to come out the very next morning after we called him, and he checked many areas again and again. We could tell that both of you do your job with care and not just as a job.
The report we received by e-mail was more than we had expected. Just a week ago, we received a fax-copy, hand-written, illegible inspection report from the company that inspected our current home. We could barely read the items which needed repair. Your report, on the other hand, was e-mailed before the 72 hour period, on a weekend! It was typed, easy-to-read and easy-to-understand. It even had pictures which showed the items being described. This made it so much easier for our communication with the seller. He completely understood what we needed done and is willing to make the repairs.
The inspection part of buying this home was one that we had worried about because the house was built in 1991. We completely trust the results of the inspection, and we have no fears about the condition of the house.
Based on the conversations that we have had, I feel strongly that if I have any other questions, now or in the future, you would be more than happy to help me. I admire your expertise and opinions, and I feel very comfortable with the way you explain things.

Dan is very qualified to do home inspections and mold inspections at the same time; this saves a lot of time and hassle with the inspection routine. We have used him twice so far, and both times he found not-very-obvious, major issues with the buildings. A home seller does not want to see this guy coming up the driveway, he is very, very good. Make sure you pay the extra fee for him to go under the house, and don't buy any house that has not been inspected from underneath!
